Nairobi, Kenya — 22 January 2026
Jahihi Trade Finance, the structured commodity division of Jahihi Financial Group, has reached USD 50 million in committed capital across its East African facilities. The milestone comes less than twelve months after the division began operating.
The division finances licensed aggregators, exporters and refiners of gold, cobalt, tin, tantalum and tungsten across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and the DRC. Facilities include pre-export advances, purchase order finance and refinery-gate advances with tenors between 3 and 90 days.
Every facility is structured against a confirmed offtake or buyer contract and subject to KYC and AML screening of the counterparty and its beneficial owners. Independent assay and weight verification is arranged at the point of consolidation.
“The demand for responsibly structured mineral trade finance in East Africa is much larger than we anticipated. What matters now is not growth speed but facility quality — every transaction we finance is one we would be comfortable defending to a regulator.”
