Nairobi, Kenya — 10 December 2025
The Central Bank of Kenya has granted Jahihi Kenya Limited an expanded licence to offer full business banking services and structured trade finance across the country. The licence takes effect immediately.
Jahihi Kenya has served retail customers since 2021. The expanded licence allows the entity to accept business deposits, offer merchant services and provide trade finance facilities directly, without routing through the group's Ugandan entity.
The business banking and trade finance desks in Nairobi are now fully operational.
“The Central Bank's decision reflects four years of consistent operation in Kenya. We now have a regulatory foundation that matches the scale of what our customers are asking us to do.”
